It seems like Thanksgiving has come up quickly this year. Earlier this week it suddenly hit me that I better start thinking ahead. I’m planning a pretty traditional dinner this year, sticking with tried-and-true dishes for the most part. We’ll do two smaller birds, one shown here and one to be smoked by my son who is a king of outdoor cooking. I’m still undecided about sweet potatoes but I’m testing out a savory Sweet Potato Gratin recipe this weekend. If it’s a hit it’ll be repeated on Thursday. In addition to these favorites, I’m adding a pecan pie and, if there’s time, a batch of warm yeast rolls.
What are your family’s Thanksgiving favorites?
Brined and Roux-Roasted Turkey
Corn Bread & Biscuit Bacon Dressing
Sage Mashed Potatoes (I’ll leave out the garlic in this recipe.)
Cranberry Sauce with Tangerine and Ginger

Wow everything looks so good!! Mashed potatoes and stuffing are what I look forward to besides EVERYTHING else.
Hope you have a sweet Thanksgiving, Karen!
Thanks Julie! I hope your day is fabulous.
I’m totally bummed I didn’t find this post until after Thanksgiving. Those corn pudding stuffed pumpkins look amazing.
