An Apology

September 29, 2011

Some of you will notice that I’ve removed my ranty post about content theft.   Time has allowed my initial anger to subside. This whole thing came up at a time when emotions in my life were/are running full speed ahead and my judgment was indeed clouded. No excuse, just fact.

As I said in my post, I reported the infringement to the Powers That Be before I went public. At this point, it’s out of my hands and I’ll let the chips fall where they may. I still believe such theft is wrong and that just because it’s rampant it doesn’t make it right. I still know the individual in question is wrong.  But I’m belatedly taking a higher road and just dropping it. Besides, the point has been made and then some.

I thought about leaving it up but removing all the identifying information but it just seemed better to take it down completely.  I wish there was a way to leave just the comments because there were very valid points made.

I appreciate the readers who discovered the theft and took the time to notify me. I appreciate the support from everyone who responded. I appreciate those of you who made me think. Thank you all!

Now back to the kitchen….

… Uh, well, you could have edited the post to remove *ALL* the information and replaced it with something like, I dunno, “I wanted to remove this post, but, as there were some valid points made in the comments, I’ve decided to just remove all the identifying information from the post and let the comments stand here.”

I’m never a fan of deleting that which has been posted. Deleting the image and removing the email address and stating ‘I have removed these items because I was wrong in posting this persons email address’ would probably have been the better option rather than this scorched earth policy where you seem to have went from one extreme to another.
