As you can probably tell by how many Publix products I use, my local Publix store is a huge part of my kitchen life. I simply do not shop anywhere else. I’m there several times a week and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience in all the years since the store opened.
This Thanksgiving I want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to some of the wonderful people who really make the store a place Where Shopping is a Pleasure. I’m sure I’m forgetting some names, even if I do remember the friendly smiles. I apologize!
Here though, in no particular order, are:
Diane in the bakery is amazing! She’s known and remembered us since before our “baby” was born. He’s 13 now. She never fails to ask about the family, even the far flung members whom she’s never met. I’ll be eternally grateful for her prayers and good thoughts while our son was in Iraq. She’s just as sweet and genuine as it gets. She left for a while and I was thrilled when she returned. The bakery wouldn’t be the same without her.
Elgie is a true southern gentleman. Unfailingly polite and kind. Funny. And apparently a good cook too!
Mary always has a big hello and news to share. I’ve known Mary for many years and it’s good to keep in touch and share life’s ups and downs.
Carol in the liquor store always has an enthusiastic hello and a big smile to match.
Mary Ann, Lorraine, Blanca, Ellie, David and all the other cashiers whose names I’m forgetting… always a smile and friendly conversation. And I miss Barb!
The produce and meat department managers and staff go out of their way to make sure I’ve got what I need. Not only without being asked but with a smile.
And finally, Liz. A trip to Publix isn’t the same without stopping to chat with Liz. She never fails to ask what’s for dinner, mention that she saw my kids in the store earlier or ask how business is going. She never fails to make sure her regular customers feel welcome and very appreciated. Every store needs a Liz!
Thank you all!
