Yes, these are chips made from okra and they’re delicious! They’re light and crispy yet they taste like fried okra.
I first tasted these a while back at Okrafest, an annual party devoted to all the goodness that is okra. As far as I know, they only come from Fresh Market so when last week’s travels took me past the store I couldn’t resist a stop.
They’re good all by themselves but since dip is a good thing, I came up with this combination from the pantry. Feel free to jazz it up or change it around. You can’t go wrong!
- Okra Chips
- Cream Cheese, 8 ounces
- Sour Cream, 8 ounces
- Old Bay Seasoning, 2 to 3 teaspoons
- Creole Seasoning, 1 teaspoon
- Green Onions, one bunch
Bring the cream cheese to room temperature and thinly slice the green onions.
Beat the cream cheese until it’s nice and fluffy then mix in the sour cream.
Add the Old Bay and Creole seasoning, Adjust the amounts to taste.
Stir in the green onions and let it sit in the fridge for a while before serving.
Serve it up at your next party. Or don’t wait for an occasion, just enjoy!
