I love sweet and gooey BBQ baked beans, the kind made from scratch that you just know have been baking for hours and hours. This recipe isn’t for those beans, but it’s an easy way to make an acceptable substitute from a boring can of beans.
Use your favorite brand of beans. I usually prefer B&M but the store was out of the big cans so I used Bush’s. It doesn’t matter a whole lot. Same thing with the BBQ sauce, just use your favorite.
- Baked Beans, 1 big can
- Bacon, 6 or 7 strips or more
- BBQ Sauce, at least a cup or more
- Brown Sugar, about a cup?
Drain most of the liquid and dump the beans into a baking dish.
Slice the bacon into little chunks.
Add the BBQ sauce and brown sugar.
Stir it all together and bake at 300 to 325 for at least an hour. Two hours is even better.
